Who is Nelly Furtado’s vocal coach?

Hi, my name is Nelly Furtado and I have known Ron Anderson for about 10 years. We met early on my singing career and he taught me so much very quickly. He is… I kind of refer to him as a kind of singing guru or a singing shaman of sorts, because he sort of has an easy, a sort of effortless way he teaches where he really teaches by example.

It’s really quite incredible to work with him. He is really a master of what he does. Especially when you start out on the right path.

You know with Ron, starting out with Ron is a way to start out on the right path with your vocals and make sure that you won’t have vocal injuries or problems. You can become and your own vocal a sort of doctor. When you’re on the road and traveling and have your engagements, and you always know how to warm your voice up. And I’ve also worked with Ron on the road where he has come on the tour with me. He actually, you know, one of my favorite Ron stories is the first Grammy Award I went to.

I actually had been so busy that week doing so may concerts and appearances, you know, trying not to be nervous that I completely exhausted my voice. Luckily Ron was at that award show working with a few other people. We pulled him aside „Ron, I need your help”. He held his keyboard he quickly came backstage and he gave me some tea, and he just massaged my vocal cords, and we did this warm-up. And magically out of nowhere, my voice came back and I had it just in time for my first time performing on the Grammy Awards. So it was really a superman moment where Ron Anderson…

So anyway, that’s just you know who Ron is. He does it from the heart and he loves what he does. And he is a real role model I think… teaches you the professionalism with your voice which is you know what, you should be professional when you sing and work your hardest to keep your instrument in really great condition. I would recommend Ron Anderson to any new singers, anybody interested in enhancing their voice, anybody maybe who’s been singing for years but really needs a new approach, anybody who is in sort of dire straits with their voice and needs somebody to heal their voice and teach them how to heal their own voice. If you need a voice guru Ron Anderson is a guide to connect with. And I just wanted to say thank you, Ron. Thanks for everything, Ron. You’re quite amazing.
